Hytale is finally here. The game opens its doors in early access on January 13, 2026. No more speculation: we now know that the game will not be available on Steam or the Epic Games Store at launch, but will run via its own independent launcher.

Here is the step-by-step guide to safely purchase, download, and install the game.

Step 1: Check the configuration (Legacy Engine)

Good news: Hytale was designed to run on the “Legacy Engine”. Unlike demanding AAA games, the goal is to make it accessible to a wide range of PCs, similar to the standards of Minecraft Java Edition .

• Note: The game is optimized for PC (Windows/Mac). No console version is available at this time.

Minimum Configuration

This configuration aims to make the game playable with “Low” graphics settings. Note that the view distance will be limited.

• OS:  Windows 10/11 (64-bit only)
• Processor:  Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
• Graphics Card:  NVIDIA GTX 960, AMD Radeon 400 series or Intel Arc.
• RAM:
  • For Multiplayer:  8 GB
  • For the Solo version:  12 GB

Recommended Configuration

This is the target audience to enjoy Hytale as it was intended, with “High” graphics.

• Processor:  Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
• Graphics Card:  NVIDIA GTX 1060, AMD Radeon RX 580 or equivalent.
• RAM:  16 GB
• Storage:  SSD recommended

Step 2: Create an account and pre-order (Starting December 13, 2025)

Before you can download anything, you must acquire a license.

1. Visit only the official Hypixel Studios website.
2. Choose your edition (Standard, Supporter or Cursebreaker).
3. Important: If you pre-order on or after December 13th, you can reserve your unique username immediately. Don’t skip this step if you want to secure your name!

Step 3: Download the Hytale Launcher

Hytale uses its own client to guarantee the studio’s independence from distribution giants.

1. Log in to your account on the official website.
2. Access your profile page or the “My Games” tab.
3. Click on the “Download Hytale Launcher” button .

• Warning: Do not download the game from any other third-party site to avoid malware.

Step 4: Installing the game

Once the installation (Setup) file has been downloaded:

1. Launch the executable.
2. Log in with your Hytale credentials (those created in step 2).
3. The launcher will download the game files (the exact size will be confirmed, but make sure you have enough disk space).
4. The installation will happen automatically.

Step 5: Launch (January 13, 2026)

If you pre-ordered, you will likely be able to pre-download the game a few days beforehand. However, the authentication servers will not open until Tuesday, January 13, 2026 .

Once the date arrives:

1. Open the Hytale Launcher.
2. The “Play” button will change from grey to green (or orange).
3. Click and dive into Exploration Mode !
