This is the strangest leak since the January launch. To combat rising toxicity on public servers, Hypixel Studios is reportedly preparing to deploy a radical overhaul of the social system.
Starting tomorrow, text chat will be permanently disabled in all common areas of Orbis. Make way for the “Immersive Leaf-Talk” system.
🌿 How will it work?
To communicate, you will now need to hold a key to record a voice message of maximum 5 seconds.
This message will be instantly processed by a moderation AI, then translated for other players into Kweebec language (a series of rustling leaves and wood-cracking sounds). If your message contains a banned word, the sound will be replaced by the sound of a snapping branch, and you will receive a “dehydration” debuff in-game.
According to the studio, this measure aims to “preserve the innocence of Orbis” while forcing players to use emote-based interactions. PC players will be required to have a configured microphone to exchange resources or recruit for guilds.
